World Cleanup Day is a success! Well done to everyone who showed up and helped clean and spread awareness about how small things like picking-up trash really helps a lot! There were some cleanup events happened around Malaysia but I’ve decided to join Decathlon Malaysia for this event as I am more of a sporty side and I do visit their shop in shoppes KLCC. Thank you so much for organising such an event and it is nice to see a good community who wakes up early for this beautiful cause!
There were two locations for the world cleanup day but decided to join the public park cleanup instead of the river cleanup because the park is near the Decathlon Malaysia Petaling Jaya location which is easier and faster for me since I do not drive. It takes a few minutes as well to get a Grab. Could have rode at the back of the lorry carrying the trash back from Decathlon petaling jaya malaysia but there were some happenings that time and totally only came to my mind about it when we were waiting for the grab haha. Reason we had to go to Decathlon Petaling Jaya is because there’s a zero waste malaysia talk, lunch and store tour as well. Nice to see all the families there as well! Better to start an example to the kids while they’re young! You guys are amazing! It was a really good day and luckily it didn’t rain during that cleanup morning, as it was drizzling but that’s all it. I keep on forgetting to bring an umbrella to be honest, Living in Dubai for 7 years and only rained a few times of the year or none at all! I keep on forgetting it rains somewhere else haha still remember when we went out for a drink in New york City and we were surprised that it was raining haha
Definitely an amazing half day for all of us, spending some time getting together and cleaning up! Good job everyone! World Cleanup Day is a success and looking forward to more of this! I’m thinking that maybe I should start a Page here on my blog and a playlist on my youtube channel about zero waste, sustainability, recycling, cleanup meetups and all that In the future! It feels empowering that in small movements or actions, doing it altogether, we are doing something really good for our Planet Earth and our future as well.
