@wemartuae: One of the things we missed back in our house in Malaysia is our hot pot or shabu shabu pot. Hot pot or shabu shabu is where you’re cooking your own meat and veggies with some sauces on the side and if you haven’t tried it before, please find one near you or make your own DIY hot pot at home. For DIY hot pot or shabu shabu, best to cook your rice cooker, small one if you’re alone or big one for the whole family. Although you can only use one type of soup base either spicy or normal soup. But you’re lucky if you got 2 rice cookers then you can make 2 soup bases then. There’s plenty of recipes online that you can find easily or just make a simple veggie broth or chicken or beef broth and add spices or chillies if you want a spicy version or make a spicy side dips instead. For cooking, any thin or small cut meats would be good, fish fillets, meatballs any balls haha and veggies you can definitely cook anything.
Why hot pot or shabu shabu? This is a one way for family and friends to have meals together and cook their own food and get to have that friends and family bonding. Nice for occasions or weekends too! Definitely love doing this. A bit much work washing the plates where I put all our food to cook but it is all worth it. I love washing the dishes anyways haha
I’ve been trying to convince my husband to visit @wemartuae for so long since quarantine started as we’ve got nothing to do during quarantine, we can still get out on the day to get something. So I thought this is the time to visit @wemartuae and get our hot pot or shabu shabu food and cookware to use at home and have lots of food and chill and have that family and friends bonding.
Last week we finally made for Christmas Eve! We went to @wemartuae and did our grocery asian haul! We bought everything I think haha I’ve never been to the grocery and have my grocery cart so full! First thing we tried to find was the hot pot cookware, I only found the normal pot and lucky I have a photo of the hot pot cookware they posted before in facebook messenger and showed it to the guy and we found it! Last one they have! Aren’t we lucky? Hehe So I grabbed the hot pot and we moved on to get all the things and food we needed… and we didn’t haha definitely bought a lot there but everyone was happy.
For the grocery haul we bought: Hot pot cookware, frozen meats like fish balls, beef and lamb rolls, dumplings, siomai, wontons, veggies like chinese cabbage, mushrooms, tofu, they got all types of mushrooms and tofu and I’ve never been happier haha I love both! Also we got some package ones like mochi, noodles, dried stuffs, also they have Non-halal or non-muslim section where you can buy all the pork, cooked pork like pork chops, pata, sausages, and pork version of dumplings, wonton, siomai as well. Fresh seafood is also available! They have alaskan live king crabs, fishes and lobster are there too!
Then we paid for our @wemartuae grocery haul all worth 571aed. They had a promotion of free hotpot or griller that time but I only found out when I got home and it wasn’t redeemable anymore so I was kinda sad I missed that. Sure I’m going to get one when I get back. I need a grill so I can have korean BBQ at home hehe. The promotion is if you spent 100aed worth of frozen food excluding pork then you can add 39aed to avail either the one base hot pot or griller.
