You’ve found the love of your life on Urban Social, but now it’s time to travel the world — but forget those casual beach holidays, you want something much more exhilarating with your partner. You both deserve a romantic trip away with your other half, but often, an unfamiliar location brings the biggest dilemma — what to pack!
1. Reykjavik, Iceland
You’ve probably noticed a recent trend of British couples flooding to Reykjavik, and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t either.
There’s a lot you will experience in Iceland, including its frosty landscape and dark night skies. As well as this, you might enjoy taking a relaxing spa day to another level by visiting the Blue Lagoon. There’s no denying that the climate in the Nordic country is extremely different to our own, so what should you wear?
Packing for boys:
You won’t be shocked to hear that you can’t go to Reykjavik without a thick winter coat. Rock bright hues that will make you stand out against the snowy backdrop when venturing outside — such as the Golden Circle tour. Hiking boots are also essential on this trip, especially if you’re moving outside of the city centre.
However, know that you aren’t limited on outfit choice — so always pack something impressive. Shop for some thermals that can be worn beneath your usual nightlife gear.
Packing for girls:
Just like the boys, you’ll need a winter coat in your suitcase. Again, you want to opt for something bright that will make you the star of the show when in Reykjavik. Thermals and hiking boots are a must for external trips.
You’ll still be able to whip out your heels in Reykjavik, so you needn’t worry about that. Remember that you can always keep warm with a faux fur coat — this is something that you can keep in the cloakroom!
2. Riga, Latvia
If you’re a lover of great design and taking countless selfies, Riga should be the next destination on your list. This city has so much to offer, so you better be booking those flights!
Whether you’re planning on visiting Central Market, one of its renowned restaurants or even the museum, you need to be prepared with what to wear.
Packing for boys:
Prepare for the chilly weather in Latvia. If you’re heading out to the Old City for a romantic walk with your partner, opt for a simple tee and a neutral coloured jacket. Pair with jeans and boots and you’re sorted.
Everyone in this city keeps it casual, so you should too. But you must remember your hats, gloves and scarves for when you’re walking back to your hotel!
Packing for girls:
You’ll dine like a celebrity in Riga. For visiting quaint cafes during the day, opt for a bold roller neck jumper and match with denim mom jeans, accompanied by some flat trainers and your favourite backpack.
Unsure on what to pack? For dinner, choose one of your favorite going out dresses and pair with some chunky heels and wear a faux fur panel jacket to stay on trend.
3. Plovdiv, Bulgaria
This could be classed as the most romantic location on our list — as the secluded city offers both historic culture but everything you need from modern indulgence.
However, we recommend looking into the activities you want to participate in before you head there. Will you be heading to the world’ most intact ancient theatre or taking a trip to an aviation museum? The choice is yours.
Packing for boys:
It’s likely that you’ll encounter some rain, so make sure you take a waterproof jacket with and some sturdy boots for your adventures.

Packing for girls:
You want to look your best when exploring, which girl doesn’t? Pack a cute tee and pair with loose fitting mom jeans and flat trainers. Take a backpack to keep your belongings in and a jacket for when you get cold walking back to your hotel.
Strut the streets in your jumper dress on an evening, you’ll look phenomenal. Remember to opt for a wedged boot too!
4. Krakow, Poland
You’ve probably considered Krakow with your bae already. Flights to this city aren’t too pricey either, so it makes the perfect getaway for the most romantic day of the year while sticking to a budget!
You’ll be surprised with how much this destination has to offer. From partying in the main square to visiting castles and cathedrals, make sure you have enough time to explore everything.
Packing for boys:
If you love venturing the streets and taking romantic strolls, this city is the place to do it. Stay casual for daytime adventures with a striped tee, leather jacket and some denim jeans. You can pull this outfit together with brogues or trainers — it’s entirely up to you!
When it’s time to wine and dine on an evening, sport a blazer on top of a roll-neck jumper, chinos and brogues!
Packing for girls:
You can’t go to Krakow without an over-sized shirt, and if you don’t have one, steal your baes! Pair these with some flat trainers or knee-high boots that are suitable for walking around the city with your other half.
Dressing for a night out in Krakow can be fun, but for date night itself, be the star of the show with a chic dress and matching jacket — and of course, heels!
