Finally tried @smk.eat.repeat beef brisket and ribs after waiting for so long! My friend and I were always planning to eat at their La Mer Beach Branch and keep on joining their contest for a free meal =D but we never win anything =P haha that’s a bummer isn’t it? Hopefully one day we can win at least one haha
Anyways, Since they closed down their La Mer Beach branch and now their new branch at Dar Al Wasl, they were too generous to giveaway BOGO voucher from instagram and happy to receive one bogo vouchers and to my friend too! We went there and ordered food! I did have high Expectations eating there since I’ve been seeing all their food and briskets everyday on instagram.
So we went, met up at business bay metro station then took uber from their to Dar Al Wasl since that is the nearest metro. It was quiet when we came to their restaurant, compared to the to the restaurant opposite them. There was like 4 tables with us people and 2 more came before we left, people for sure were on their way for some yummy brisket hehe as maybe we were early.
We ordered:
-beef brisket bun
-beef cubano
-ribs with mac n cheese
Beef Cubano and Beef brisket bun comes with crunchy fries and coleslaw while the ribs came with mac n cheese then ordered drinks separately.
I ate the beef brisket bun at the restaurant and it totally melts in your mouth, coleslaw helps to keep up with the beef taste to wash it out or I was thinking a wine would be fine haha the fries definitely is the superstar that night for dinner totally delicious crunchy with that kick! Beef Brisket bun was ok for me, nothing too over the top to think that it is getting so much rave on instagram hehe although it is truly melts in your mouth but somehow there’s something missing with the taste as we all agreed while eating it. The Mac and Cheese was good too! Also looking at the photos they’re posting on instagram, I felt robbed comparing it to my beef brisket bun haha The photo on their instagram was full of meat and mine is like ok, hehe you know those burger commercials versus the real ones? Yeah, that’s what I felt LOL But since I got the meal for BOGO price, I suppose I deserved what I got for sure haha Although, I still I’m a customer should’ve received proper serving as advertised.
Unlucky of me, I got drunk that night, So the story is, I take away the Beef Cubano that night, got tequila drunk at home and that whole week I don’t even wanna see food, so never got the chance to try the Beef Cubano so now I don’t know how will I explain the taste and everything for that beef Cubano to you guys haha Hopefully, SMK will read this and invite me and give me another chance (for free) to try their beef cubano? =D we’ll never know! I’ll take my chances haha =D Also the staff are very nice! =) We enjoyed our food that night and it is a lovely restaurant.
But you know, if you’re a fan of brisket, SMK Smoked Meat Kitchen specialize in this kind of meal, Carnivore lovers heaven! So go ahead and visit them, enjoy their brisket and ask for extra Meat on your Beef Brisket Bun will ya!? LOL I’m still looking forward to visiting the place one day again, But not like an every night or once a week visit for my taste buds. Still recommended for everyone to try of course, My experience and taste buds for sure will be different compared to everyone else. This is my opinion, so visit them and let me know what you think about it!
