Retro Clothes Make a Comeback
Retro styles from the ‘70s and ‘80s are increasingly making their way back as today’s fashion trends. Take note of these garments and accessories so you can stock up on them and look fashionably cool, too. Here are some shorts, shoes, skirts, shirts, and tips to expand your wardrobe.
Figure-hugging spandex is back and is the perfect fabric to wear while working out. One particularly notable option is to don a pair of paint-splattered spandex shorts. You can find them in colors that make a statement, such as neon pink, lime green, and black.
Shoes and Boots
As far as retro-funky footwear goes, there are several fun styles to choose from. If you’re a fan of boots, you’ll love a few of the pointy-toe, ankle-high boot styles popular today. Pointed toes are also showing up on high heels for a chic look on the dance floor, at work, or out on the town.
Mini skirts are stylish classics; so make sure you have at least one teeny skirt in your wardrobe. Especially popular are those made from leather and cut with high waistlines. Try on a few and find one that shows off your legs and fits you just right.
T-Shirts
Remember slogan tees? They are back in vogue, so pick one that expresses your thoughts or tell the world you are a fan of a favorite oldies band. Wear your t-shirts either snug and sexy or loose and off-the-shoulder. Either look can turn heads.
Fabric, Color, and Sparkle
If you’re going to dress retro, go for the glitter and bright colors that were so chic in the past. Sequins can make you sparkle like a disco ball. Traffic-cone orange, fluorescent green, and hot pink will definitely make you stand out in a crowd. Denim is still popular after all these years, too, and is the perfect material for shirts, skirts, pants, and jackets. Ditto for leather.
The past is back in the way of trendy clothing items, so find the right wardrobe pieces for your closet. You may even want to add some shoulder pads for a major injection of the ‘80s.

I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and I can honestly say I don’t miss the styles. lol. But I am sure my kids will love them.

It’s definitely cool to see styles returning like this. For a while, having lots of different colors in your outfit wasn’t stylish.
Looking back at what we wore in the 80s and wonder why we want to repeat some of the stuff. There are some cute things and I think you grab a whole bunch of those, but I don’t think I want to repeat the shoulder pads LOL.
Slogan tees! I loved these when I was younger. I think they never really went out of style. I also like the bright abstract prints on blouses!
