Pink Fong, Marketing Manager of Maybelline New York Malaysia, shared a few key milestones at the local birthday celebration on the brand’s achievements throughout the years. “In 1915, inspired by his sister Mabel, Thomas L. Williams developed a mail-order lash and brow beautifier called LASH-BROW-INE. In 1950, Maybelline introduced the first-ever mass market automatic mascara, MAGIC MASCARA, and we became one of the first cosmetic brands to advertise on TV. Our signature phrase, “Maybe she’s born with it. Maybe it’s Maybelline” was created in 1990, and continues to make an impact on women’s lives even as we speak.”
The birthday bash runway show featured Maybelline New York’s 9 decades of iconic looks and one exclusive Future makeup look, created by professional makeup maestro Stevensunny. Each look represents makeup artistry and trends in the past, present and future, made possible with Maybelline New York’s colour cosmetics, which captured the vividness of each decade perfectly.
Stevensunny’s Future look, Glam Goddess, makes full use of a blend of sparkling gold and rich brown tones to bring out the Malaysian woman’s features. “Gold is the perfect choice when it comes to the Glam Goddess look, because the warm undertones are suitable for Malaysian skin tones. I was inspired by the latest makeup trends from Milan, Italy, but I wanted to make it wearable and relevant for Asian features. This look plays up the eyes with a mixture of beautiful colours – light brown and gold on the center, with darker gradient shading on the sides to make eyes pop! The overall effect is subtle yet eye-catching. What I love about Maybelline New York’s products is that they let you take what you see on the runway and make it wearable for everyday women,” he explained. – press release –
