CHICKEN CHOP IT ROO CAFE Johor Bahru: When travelling, of course food is a part of it. Visiting Johor Bahru for the weekend for my friend’s wedding, means food hunting as well. After getting the famous banana bread, we dropped by for a quick lunch over at It Roo Cafe Johor Bahru. We walked past there a few times while checking out the surrounding areas and we gave in! We went and tried their chicken chop! As their branding motto is Best Chicken Chop in Town! Won’t you be curious about it? Of course you will! So we went there for lunch so you don’t have to! Hehe
We ordered the Chicken Chop Mushroom Gravy Sauce and Chicken Chop golden fried crispy. The service is very quick and the first time I’ve tried the barley drink as well. It’s a good drink but I’m not fond of it. They also have some other things on the menu like lamb, prawns, mixed grill etc.. Both chicken are very nice although I would definitely suggest the golden fried crispy chicken chop. It comes with a gravy sauce like the mushroom gravy sauce, but the chicken with mushroom sauce is not cooked as crispy so for me the crispy fried + gravy sauce is the best combo. You can also order fried rice as well to accompany your chicken chop as the chicken chop comes with wedge potato fries and coleslaw.
The staff there is all nice. Service is good. The place is not that fancy even though there’s a “cafe” in it. But the place looks like simple and humble places that everyone is very welcome to come and eat. They offer indoor and outdoor seating areas as well. Prices of the food are reasonable and not a tourist price which is really good. As Johor Bahru is just next to Singapore, I was expecting tourist prices or Singapore prices hehe. Overall the food there is good and definitely recommended. Don’t forget to watch the my VLOG about it below =)
