ABOUT IPPUDO

IPPUDO was founded in 1985 in Japan’s ramen capital of Hakata by Shigemi Kawahara, the internationally-acclaimed Ramen King and CEO of Chikaranomoto Company, which encompasses some of Japan’s finest restaurants. Today, there are over 80 IPPUDO restaurants throughout Japan and almost 50 overseas outlets in major international locations like New York, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taipei, Seoul, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Guangzhou, London, Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila that collectively serve more than 50,000 customers per day.

Salmon Salad – RM18 : Freshly diced salmon served with assorted greens and Japanese dressing. The avocado gives a fine taste to this salad. Not to be missed if you visit Ippudo.

Sweet Corn Tempura – RM8 : Lightly battered deep fried corn topped with paprika seasoning. It was my first time tasting this Corn Tempura. I would say that the recipe is unique and taste different but in a good yummy way. Recommended!

Spicy Boiled Gyoza – RM13 : Boiled gyoza served with special spicy sauce. I can still remember the first time I’ve tried this and now I’m craving while writing this! The burst of flavour and I must say mild spicy-ness is really good!

Grilled Eel Roll With Teriyaki Sauce – RM19 : Grilled eel over seasoned sushi rice roll served with teriyaki sauce. If you’ve been following me on Instagram and My Facebook Page, You’ll know how I love Unagi/Eel. This dish is just amazing in every bite!  Great taste combining teriyaki sauce to the rice!

Pork Grill – RM16 : Pork loin on a hot plate served with bean sprout, sweet corn and teppan sauce. If you are a fun of pork, This is a must try in Ippudo! Bean sprout is cooked perfectly together with the Grilled pork!

Karaka Kakuni – RM30.90

The above said Ramen taste amazing! If you’re a fan of Ramen I would recommend karaka kakuni out of the 3 kinds of Ramen I’ve mention above. This Karaka Kakuni is not that spicy, I can say that it’s like Ramen with a kick and burst with flavour and ramen goodness. May I say that that the pork is too big for me! You can even share it. Though, I guess it is a normal Ramen serving size, It is too big for me and the other friends who ate at Ippudo. But I think Big Serving Is alway good!

Daifuku – RM9 : Japanese mochi filled with ice cream served with strawberry and lemon slice. Oh! Don’t miss your dessert after  your amazing meal! Must try to have this Daifuku! Ice cream Goodness, Mochi Style!

Kawahara is well known for reinventing ramen, and redefining recipes for a dish that emerged over 300 years ago. These recipes continue to captivate more than 50,000 customers who visit IPPUDO’s over 80 restaurants throughout Japan and almost 50 overseas outlets in major international cities daily – including those in London, Bangkok, Jakarta and Manila that opened their doors in late 2014.

IPPUDO Malaysia – the local chapter of Japan’s acclaimed ramen chain – launched its new 2015 Grand Menu at their Pavilion KL outlet today, via a special preview for friends from mainstream and social media publications. These new culinary creations – to be offered at IPPUDO’s Pavilion KL and The Gardens Mall outlets have been carefully crafted to cater to the discerning palates of loyal fans and local foodies.

My Verdict:

“I would say that after trying all of these dishes at Ippudo Malaysia, It is a must place to try different varieties of Ramen or any Japanese Foods you’ve been Craving for. With the Grand New Menu, It won’t disappoint you knowing that you will get to try those new dishes like The Sweet Corn Tempura, Their Ramen, and Daifuku! Just letting you know that you are paying for the satisfaction!”

Twelve other new main dishes that customers can look forward to are the Salmon Salad, Spicy Boiled Gyoza, Lasagne Gyoza, Sweet Corn Tempura, Dashimaki Egg Roll, Mushroom Teppan, Pork Grill, Ika No Isobe Age (deep fried squid tentacles with seaweed powder), Teppan Rice with Beef, Teppan Garlic Rice with Chicken, Grilled Eel Roll with Teriyaki Sauce, and Seared Salmon Roll with Mentaiko. Those with a sweet tooth may like to savour the seven new desserts: Panna Cotta with Soybean Flour, Matcha Parfait, Itachoco Monaka (crunchy chocolate sandwiched between soft vanilla ice cream and wafer), Daifuku (Japanese mochi filled with ice cream served with strawberry and lemon slices), Japanese Bit Sized Ice Cream, Taiyaki Ice and Cheese Stick.
