This is definitely a super late blog post. It has been a year haha My apologies, Life is Life-ing lately and I only managed to start editing all of my youtube vlogs now. I’m trying my best to post 2x a week so there’s plenty to binge watch during your free time hehe.

Moving on to my very first model casting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It feels very weird to be honest but I went to the casting anyway. Of course it is a usual model casting, everything is super organized which was amazing btw! Also another thing I like is how they made us walk in a private area just with the judge so everyone outside can’t really see what’s happening inside. That is a really good practice of respect for models right there and hope to see more of like that kind of casting. I just want to give them a high-five for bringing a proper medical height measuring instrument just to measure everyone precisely. I have never felt terrified in my life! Well that height measuring device looks terrifying haha I’ve been to a lot of model castings of course but never in the past I’ve seen a measuring device xD other than that they didn’t measure anything else but just the HEIGHT!!! yes i’m yelling haha

Naaaah! I was just kidding. I’m not really terrified. Just very curious really. I’ve been in the fashion industry for sooooo long. I only started modeling a few years ago and I’m kinda familiar with how things work. Modeling Industry I might say, being both on the front stage and backstage of fashion shows, photos and video shoots is a totally different story.

Also I want to highlight how I do compare Dubai versus Kuala Lumpur cities both in the fashion and modeling industry a lot. I just can’t help it. There’s so many things, so many pros and cons. So let me know in my youtube channel or instagram or facebook comments if you want to hear about my opinion haha not that it’s important but since I’ve experienced both sides and both cities… So why not right?! One thing for sure is how Petite models are not seen very much on big names of fashion shows here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As I’ve said above, they strictly measure everyone’s height with a medical measuring instrument which is called Stadiometer, yes! I googled it haha. So basically petite models or in between heights are not yet that much accepted here in model casting Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I don’t blame anyone, not pointing fingers at anyone at all. Just saying that outside of Malaysia, the rest of the world has evolved and is slowly getting there. Which is a BIG PLUS in Dubai. Modeling industry there is super fast paced! There’s fashion shows almost every week! OK I’m exaggerating a little bit but Dubai Fashion Shows are busy! Based on my experience being a full-time model there It was super busy for ME and as a petite model or not very tall model there were so many opportunities and I’m very thankful to all of the people who booked me and still books me until now. Hope to come back soon! I miss you all ;(

Anyways, It’s been a year since and I am still working and trying my best to feed my soul to be there, back on the stage again, walk on the runway one day. I’m still on the lookout for model castings and hope to find my new Home and new model family to go on together with our modeling journey. There are a few regular fashion shows around that accept and don’t discriminate all height and body size but everytime they schedule their model casting kuala lumpur malaysia, I’m always not available. Usually I’m on a trip somewhere so yeah waiting for the next one. So far these fashion shows without height or body size or Race discrimination are doing a really good job!! Hope they do more fashion shows hehe Always remember that your time will come and do what makes you happy. Go where you are appreciated, not Tolerated. We will get there one day lovies!
